Brass sprinkler head extensions are used in a fire sprinkler system to extend fixed nipples (drops) that have been cut too short to place. Usually, a drop nipple has been cut too short to accommodate variations in drop ceiling height. They are designed to correct sprinkler head elevation without removing or re-cutting the sprinkler drop.
